On 5th of May 2003, Mr. Mehmood‐ul‐Haq Alvi, Prof.Abdul Qayyum Qureshi and Sheikh Mukhtar Ahmed (founder Principal) inaugurated this institution after offering Maghrib Prayers. They sought the blessing of Allah to help them in their endeavor to run the institution as an English Medium Cadet College. There were only 42 students in the first batch of Grade 6. Even now, the students enrolment in grade 6 only and leave after doing FSc.
Ali Trust College (ATC), Islamabad is a residential educational institution functioning on the pattern of a Cadet college. However, the entire cost of education, boarding, and lodging is born by the Trust. Accordingly, for purposes of discipline and maintenance of decorum, some of the features of the cadet college paradigm are also followed.
Talented students who are deserving also, are selected from all provinces and regions of the country on the basis of balanced quota vacancies through a two stage examination and interview system. The curricula and educational system is designed to focus on attainment of academic excellence as well as wholesome grooming of personality with particular emphasis on development of sound character traits.
